One can also reach Dheradhun and drive to Kasol with a 6-7 hour drive.

This trail crosses the nalah and abruptly becomes rocky and a little steep. Alongside this trek are stalls under tarpaulins serving tea, omelets and Maggi. Some also serve another local drink Bhura made from red spring flowers rhododendron, it is also believed that the petals of this flowers can directly be chewed for instant energy. Distance: 7 km

The journey to Min Thach is a gentle climb and the route opens up to the view of MinThach, Nagru and Sar Pass. Going ahead we enter the dense forests, which barely allow the sunlight to enter making the path a little confusing. After a few hours the forest opens up to a grass meadow, the Min Thach. At this place also, there are a few food stalls and taps for water.

Day 03Min Thach – Nagaru

Altitude: 3800 m

Average time taken: 5-6 hours

Distance: 8 km

This trek is performed early in the morning and recommended to complete before late noon, as the path may get slippery and risky when its snowy. After the initial 100 meters the path is filled with grass lines and shrubs, walking through which for a few hours we reach a flat land and our next campsite of Nagaru. This place gets explicitly cold during the nights and hence winter protection is of utmost importance. The top gives us views of Beas Valley, the Manikaran town and also the Parvati valley.

Day 04Nagaru – Sar Paas – Biskeri Thach

Altitude: 3800 – 4200 – 3350 m

Average time taken: 7-8 Hours

Distance: 14 km

Today is one of our longest days with ascends and descends. The snow path of this region is not much complicated, however with the high altitude our pace tends to be slow. Some enthusiastic mountaineers purposely trek during the snow using ice axes and crampons. After a long walk the view opens up to exhilarating view from the Sar Pass, we can see a Trishul at this top. Wandering on the top and filling the natures beauty in our eyes we move ahead to a 1 km long descend for about an hour to reach our campsite of Bhiskeri Thach

Day 05Biskheri Thach – Barshaini – Kasol

Altitude: 3350 – 2400 m

Average time taken: 4-5 Hours

Distance: 10 km

Enjoy the splendid views of the lofty Himalayas while descending towards Barshaini, we come across a small stream. This stream separates the twin villages of Pulga and Tulga. Crossing the stream and finally a bridge over Parvati river we reach Barshaini, from where we have a private vehicle to Kasol.

We take an overnight halt in Kasol and move to the desired destination next day.
